The Neurophysiology department is a small but busy speciality department within the Medical Directorate at the Victoria Hospital performing tests to investigate neurological conditions.
We are looking for a conscientious, friendly support worker to assist with clinical, admin and general duties within the department. This will include assisting physiologists before, during and after investigations, some domestic duties and also to provide administrative support such as arranging appointments and taking phone calls.
We see both adult and paediatric patients in the department, including those who may have behavioural, neurological and psychiatric problems and who may be critically unwell. The successful candidate will therefore be expected to have excellent communication skills. Good organisational skills and the ability to work unsupervised are also essential. Working pattern Monday 9-16.15, Wednesday 08.30-17.00 and Thursday 11-16.30 (may be subject to change)
Requirements of the post
The successful candidate must have excellent communication and good organisational skills. Experience within the healthcare environment would be an advantage. Basic IT skills are essential. Experience with children is desirable.
