Overview
Are you an experienced Social Worker looking for a change of role? We have a full-time Social Worker vacancy for up to 12 months to cover maternity leave within our Adult Social Care - Neighbourhood Support Team - Lewes & North Wealden.
As an experienced Social Worker, you will be confident and competent in practice with positive outcomes for vulnerable people aged 18 and over who are assessed as meeting Adult Social Care's eligibility criteria. You will need detailed knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act (2005), the Mental Health Act (1983), Equality legislation and the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, and you must be able to implement this legislation in daily practice. You will also perform the County’s section 42 safeguarding duties to protect and mitigate risks to the clients we serve. You will assess clients in line with other statutory duties such as section 9 assessment under the Care Act (2014) using a strength-based, outcome-focused approach. Experience of Court of Protection work is advantageous, but training is offered to successful candidates. You must be a Registered Social Worker with Social Work England and hold a recognised social work qualification (CQSW, DipSW, Degree or Master\'s in social work). Social Workers holding Assessed and Supported Year in Employment qualifications are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities

* Meet the travel requirements of the role; you will be required to travel across East Sussex, including rural areas.
* Attend interviews and participate in selection processes as required.
