Northstone Materials is one of the leading quarry, civil engineering and road contractors operating in Northern Ireland and Border Counties. We are seeking a motivated and reliable Plant Operator to join our team at Carmean Limeworks.
Our Carmean site is a key part of our operations, producing lime and related materials for a range of industrial and agricultural uses.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe, efficient and continuous operation of milling and associated plant equipment. They will play a vital role in ensuring product quality, maintaining equipment and support the overall operations of the site.
About The Role
Key Responsibilities
* Operate and monitor the milling plant and associated processing equipment in line with Northstone procedures and production targets;
* Operate and maintain an articulated dump truck, moving material around the site;
* Carry out routine safety checks, adjustments and inspections to maintain efficient operation and ensure consistent product quality;
* Record production data accurately, reporting any breakdowns or quality issues to supervisory staff;
* Undertake basic maintenance, cleaning and housekeeping to ensure a safe and clean working environment;
* Assist with material handling, loading and unloading as required;
* Follow all health, safety and environmental policies and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement;
* Support other production or site activities as and when required.
Requirements
* Previous experience operating industrial or plant machinery (ideally within a quarrying, cement or related environment)
* Basic maintenance skills;
* Strong commitment to health and safety standards;
* Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively;
* Flexibility to work shifts and respond to operational needs.
