As a Practice Nurse, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality care to diverse patient groups in a community-focused environment. Core Responsibilities Include
* Phlebotomy and venepuncture
* Wound care, dressings, and general practice skills
* Health promotion and patient education
* Chronic disease management (Asthma, COPD, Diabetes, CHD)
* Administration of immunisations including childhood, flu, travel, and Depo injections
* Family planning support including pill checks, coil checks, and contraception reviews
* Health assessments, screenings, and long-term condition reviews
* Blood pressure, ECGs, and blood glucose monitoring
* Cervical smear tests and breast awareness guidance
Essential Skills And Competencies
* To thrive in this Practice Nurse role, you'll need to demonstrate competence and qualifications in:
o Diploma in Asthma and COPD
o Certificate in care and treatment of patients with chronic disease
o Qualifications in Diabetes, Respiratory Medicine, or coronary heart disease (or equivalent experience)
o Cervical cytology (smear-taking), contraception, and travel health
o Confident use of clinical systems: SystmOne, EMIS, Adastra, Vision, or Odyssey
