Fitter
Responsibilities:
1. To build high pressure, reciprocating compressor blocks of various sizes within the designated time frames, to high standards.
2. Build a wide variety of sub-assemblies for compressors and aftermarket use
3. To build custom engineered compressor sets with limited instruction.
4. Accurately read and interpret general arrangement drawings, manuals and written instructions in order to produce a quality product.
5. To ensure Health and Safety policies are adhered to and requirements are maintained.
6. To assist in problem solving and potentially repair compressors in the event of test failures.
7. Work in a lean environment and continually strive in improve the work environment and methods.
8. Undertake any other duties as may be reasonably required within the scope of the role.
Key Competencies:
9. Building of reciprocating compressors
10. Fitting / assembling of piston compressors / engines.
11. Use of lifting equipment
12. Use of computer equipment
Qualifications:
13. Apprenticeship / NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or relevant experience.
14. Knowledge of fitting techniques, such as roller bearing fitting, piston/cylinder assembly etc.
15. Ability to interpret technical drawings & written instructions
16. Working to lean practices and techniques
