About The Role
Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for people and precision? Lloyd’s Register GMT, based at the prestigious Wilton Centre, is seeking an exceptional Laboratory Manager to lead and inspire our high-performing team at the forefront of marine fuel analysis.
We’re looking for a confident and capable leader with a strong background in petrochemical analysis or the marine industry. You’ll combine technical expertise with outstanding communication skills and a genuine passion for developing people. Your leadership will be instrumental in maintaining our world-class standards and driving continuous improvement.
In this pivotal role, you’ll do more than manage the laboratory operations—you’ll help shape the future of our laboratory by fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. You’ll be the driving force behind a team that delivers critical insights to safeguard marine operations and optimise vessel performance for over 6,000 ships worldwide.

The Role

* Operational Excellence: Ensure effective management of the laboratory operations, ensuring testing is efficient, safe, and of the highest quality—while maintaining cost-effectiveness and compliance.
* Strategic Collaboration: Partner with our QA Manager and HSES Lead to uphold rigorous standards in quality, safety, and environmental compliance.
* Accreditation Leadership: Ensure full compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 17025, and ISO 45001, reinforcing our reputation for technical excellence.
* Business Impact: Manage financial and operational responsibilities, including budgeting, stock control, and method development to support our growth and innovation.
What You Bring
* Degree/Higher National Certificate in related subject.
* Excellent leadership & communication skills
* Experience of leading large, high performing teams in similar environments.
* Detailed Knowledge of relevant laboratory operations/standards and properties of relevant chemical products
* Detailed Knowledge of relevant Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental standards
* Proficiency in computer skills.
