Treasury Dealer

Scottish Power HQ, Glasgow (onsite, hybrid)

Salary from £38,400 + up to 10% Bonus & Health Cover

18-month fixed term contract

Purpose

Main purpose of this role is to control and implement Scottish Power board policies and procedures in managing foreign exchange risk, interest rate risk and liquidity risk, and to develop and monitor related processes, Failure to implement effective risk management procedures could result in a substantial loss of profit, lost business opportunities and loss of investments.

Contribute to the overall direction and performance of the department and support the Finance & Treasury team in delivering the department's objectives and managing changes in scope, processes and requirements as the Department evolves.

What you'll be doing

* Responsible for managing the FX risk of the business, executing hedging in line with policy via trades with counterparty banks on a platform or via phone.
* Engaging with multiple business stakeholders (project managers) to assess FX risk and act on instruction to execute the risk management policy.
* Provide professional Treasury advice and solutions to group businesses on their foreign exchange and interest rate exposures, whilst ensuring compliance with board policy.
* The dealer is also responsible for executing bank guarantees. Working with the business and the counterparty banks and legal teams to assess guarantee requirements, agree wording, prepare documentation, register in SAP, manage the approval for payment of fees.
* Monitor and control balances on all foreign currency bank accounts (covering a minimum of 8 major currencies) for the group,
* Provide cover for daily cashflow forecasting ensuring the liquidity position is effectively and efficiently managed to maximise interest rate returns to the group.
* Invest short-term cash surplus using money markets, to maximise returns whilst ensuring the instruments used are within risk management guidelines.
* Represent the group in managing relationships with external banks ensuring key contacts are in place for future group requirements.
* Responsibility for updating, monitoring and analysing cash flow forecasts for the group, to identify funding requirements. Ensuring funds are in place to make payments as and when required in all currencies, business critical in the current financial climate.

What you'll bring

* Knowledge of main cashflows within large Corporates
* Experience in UK money markets (desirable)
* Proficient user in excel

Minimum Criteria

* Degree qualified with 2-3 years' experience in a finance role
* Experience working in a large, complex, matrixed organisation
* Proficient Excel user
* Work within tight deadlines
