Overview
An exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Occupational Therapist to join our team providing a therapy service across Queens Hospital and King George Hospitals. The role involves rotation on a 6-month basis across various medical specialties including care of the elderly, surgical, orthopaedic, stroke and neurological settings. A strong focus on ongoing development and training is provided through a well-established preceptorship programme and integrated therapy service.
Responsibilities
* Perform occupational therapy assessments of patients with diverse presentations, including complex physical, cognitive and psychological/mental health conditions.
* Develop and deliver individualised treatment plans and provide a diagnosis of functional status.
* Hold responsibility for own caseload and a defined area of the service or a particular patient type, with access to direct supervision.
* Engage in formal training, clinical reasoning sessions, peer review and supervision as required; receive advice and support from a senior occupational therapist.
* Contribute to a multidisciplinary team environment and collaborate across the Trust sites.
Essential Criteria
* Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy and HCPC Registration
* Broad clinical experience as a student or Band 5
* Ability to demonstrate skills in assessment and treatment of patients in line with current practice
Employment Details
* Probation: 6 months for new staff to familiarise with the culture and working environment
* Location: Trust sites including King George Hospital and Queen’s Hospital; services cover three London boroughs and surrounding areas
