Burnside High School is seeking an enthusiastic and committed head of careers to join our learning support faculty. This is a full-time, permanent position leading and developing the school’s careers programme and supporting students to make informed decisions about their future pathways.
The successful applicant will lead the delivery of a comprehensive careers education programme across the school, working with students to explore tertiary, training, and employment pathways. They will build strong relationships with students, staff, whānau, and external providers, and coordinate initiatives that support students in planning for further education, training, and employment.
We are seeking a reflective and student-focused educator who demonstrates strong organisational and communication skills, and a commitment to equitable access to career and pathway opportunities for all students. A commitment to culturally responsive practice and Te Tiriti o Waitangi is essential.
The ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, whānau, and community partners is key to this role. The successful applicant will contribute positively to the wider faculty and the life of the school, working collaboratively with colleagues to support students to achieve their aspirations.
