The role: As a SEN Teacher and subject lead, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality, engaging lessons tailored to individual needs. You will: Plan and deliver lessons across core subjects (with a particular emphasis on English) Support pupils’ academic and personal development through Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) Contribute to EHCP reviews and PEP meetings Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment Work closely with colleagues, families, and external agencies Promote safeguarding and wellbeing at all times Whilst this job description gives a reasonable overview of the post, it is not exhaustive, and the post holder will be expected to behave in a flexible manner and take on any other duties that may be reasonably delegated from time to time. Requirements for a SEN Teacher: Essential: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree A minimum of 2 years post graduation experience Strong understanding of SEND and SEMH Knowledge of assessment frameworks and progress tracking Excellent behaviour management and inclusive teaching strategies A commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare Desirable: Subject/Department leader experience (or acting leadership experience) Experience in teaching across alternative subjects (and a willingness to support other departments as the team grows) Successful employment is subject to satisfactory Full Enhanced Disclosure, right to work and reference checks in line with government regulations and Safer Recruitment Practices.
