Senior Drilling Engineer (Hybrid Working)
Overview
The Senior Drilling Engineer is responsible for planning, executing, and supporting safe, efficient, and cost-effective well operations and abandonment activities. This role involves designing, managing costs and risks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders for successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and execute drilling and abandonment operations in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements
* Prepare and review drilling programmes, cost estimates, and risk assessments
* Provide technical expertise for project planning, contractor selection, and tender evaluations
* Monitor operational performance and identify opportunities for cost and efficiency optimisation
* Support ongoing operations with engineering advice and technical solutions
* Ensure compliance with well examination schemes, safety case regulations, and environmental standards
* Prepare and maintain all regulatory and operational documentation
* Review and update well operations procedures and manuals
* Evaluate and implement new technologies and equipment to improve performance and safety
* Collaborate with partners, contractors, and regulatory bodies as needed
* Promote and enforce company health, safety, and environmental policies
Qualifications and Experience
* Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline
* Significant experience in well engineering and operations
* Thorough understanding of drilling practises and well control principles
* General knowledge of geology, petroleum engineering, and reservoir management
* Field experience in wellsite operations
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
* Valid IWCF Well Control certification
* Valid BOSIET certification
