Looking for a new challenge?
We are seeking Support Workers / Intervenors to join our Intervenor Service in the Hertfordshire area, specifically in Hemel Hempstead.
We provide 1:1 support to children and adults with congenital Deafblindness, supporting their personal and social development and encouraging independence by facilitating access to activities.
No prior professional care experience is required, as we offer specialist training on supporting individuals with dual-sensory impairments often combined with other disabilities.
It is essential to have a full UK driving license and access to your own vehicle.
We are currently recruiting for bank/relief Intervenors, with potential for permanent roles based on individual needs. The available hours in Hemel Hempstead are:
* (Adults) Hemel Hempstead – 2 hours per week
* Supporting an individual in Hemel Hempstead to develop communication skills, possibly involving British Sign Language.
* (Adult) Hemel Hempstead – 3 hours per week
* Supporting an adult in social activities and community engagement, with some BSL skills preferred.
* (Young person) Hemel Hempstead – 3 hours per week
* Supporting a young person to access community activities and develop skills like travel training.
This role may include:
* Supporting daily activities led by the individual.
* Promoting independent living.
* Assisting with access to activities based on sensory needs and interests.
* Personal care and hygiene support.
* Community outings for shopping, social events, etc.
