The Account Manager is responsible for managing a portfolio of Tier 2 and Tier 3 customer accounts, ensuring high levels of customer service, commercial delivery, and sustainable account growth. Acting as the primary point of contact for assigned customers, the role coordinates activities across Sales, NPD, Operations, Planning and Supply Chain to ensure successful project delivery, effective order management, and accurate demand forecasting.
Key Responsibilities:
* Own the commercial performance of assigned customer accounts, delivering agreed revenue, volume, margin and service objectives
* Build and maintain strong customer relationships, acting as a primary point of contact
* Drive account growth through new product development opportunities and volume growth
* Lead cross-functional customer coordination across NPD, Operations, Planning, Supply Chain and Technical teams to ensure successful project delivery
* Ensure accurate customer forecasting and effective participation in the S&OP process
* Maintain high standards of account governance, ensuring projects, orders, actions and customer commitments are delivered accurately and on time
* Take ownership of customer issues, risks and escalations, driving timely resolution
Key Requirements:
* Minimum 2 years' experience in Sales, Account Management or a customer-facing commercial role.
* Experience within manufacturing, FMCG, or other production-led environments is desirable.
* Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
* Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and strong administrative discipline
* Proven ability to manage multiple customer accounts, projects and priorities simultaneously
* Commercially aware, with a sound understanding of revenue and margins
* Comfortable working with forecasts, sales data and planning processes
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively when required.
* Demonstrates ownership, accountability and a proactive approach to problem solving.
* Competent in Microsoft Excel, Outlook and CRM systems.
