Job title: Senior Project Accountant \n\nLocation: Portsmouth – We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role\n\nSalary: £50,000-£60,000 (dependent on skills and experience) \n\nWhat you’ll be doing:\n\nProvision of experienced financial support to Project Accounting by building and maintaining effective relationships and ensuring robust financial challenge and control\n\nProvision of accurate financial information and advice to a project or group of projects on a timely basis to enable effective decision-making \n\nProvision of financial support and advice to customers and stakeholders \n\nSupervise, maintain and operate financial systems and processes in a constantly changing environment \n\nResolve problems to ensure development/production timescales are met across projects\n\nProvide helpline to internal and external customers \n\nProvide cover for day-to-day aspects of manager’s role \n\nFacilitate decision-making using knowledge and experience \n\nEffective liaison with other functions involved in the projects\n\nContinual improvement of procedures and working practices \n\nAssume responsibility for key areas of processes \n\nProvide advice to customers and stakeholders \n\nEffectively police project control environment \n\nInput and approve journal vouchers \n\nCoaching non-finance employees on related matters\n\nYour skills and experiences:\n\nProject Accounting experience – fully qualified\n\nKnowledge of MoD Accounting/Contracting requirements\n\nDetailed knowledge of Project Lifecycle Management (LCM) Process \n\nBusiness Systems experience (SAP/Budget, Planning & Consolidation)\n\nFinance governance requirements including financial control framework\n\nBenefits:\n\nYou’ll receive benefits including a competitive pension scheme, enhanced annual leave allowance and a Company contributed Share Incentive Plan. The team ensures strong financial governance by implementing effective processes, conducting detailed analysis of data, and maintaining clear communication across departments.
