Our client, a leading Trade Association based in Southwark, Central London, is seeking a Head of Membership Engagement to join their team.

The Role of Head of Membership Engagement
Working under the direction of the Executive Director, the postholder will be responsible for developing and delivering strategies for membership engagement, recruitment, and retention to ensure the organization continues to:
* Deliver excellent support to members
* Ensure retention of current members
* Increase recruitment of new members
Duties and responsibilities
* Review current approaches to membership engagement, recruitment, and retention, and develop strategies to enhance these activities
* Build and maintain strong relationships with members at a senior level
* Identify prospective companies for membership
* Implement a membership growth strategy targeting prospective members across the UK, with specific annual growth targets
* Establish contact and build relationships with existing and prospective members at CEO/executive level
* Communicate the benefits of membership effectively to both current and potential members
* Respond to inquiries about member benefits from potential new members
* Develop and implement processes and systems to improve member experience
* Represent the voice of members within the organization, creating feedback loops and fostering cross-functional collaboration
* Design and execute an annual Membership Survey to measure success and identify areas for improvement
* Manage membership applications and renewals, collaborating with the Finance Director on membership rates and payment processes
* Oversee administration and logistics of member meetings, including minute-taking and action tracking
* Identify opportunities to promote member activities through channels like the website, communications, and resources
Person specification – Knowledge and experience
* Significant experience in growing membership and managing membership services in similar organizations
* Experience in developing and refining administrative processes
* Strong strategic planning and business development skills
* Excellent interpersonal, influencing, and communication skills at CEO/executive level
* Experience managing CRM databases
The role requires good networking and teamwork skills, working closely with the executive team. While primarily based in London, attendance at events, meetings, and member offices across England and Wales is expected.
