JOB FUNCTION:
This role involves delivering physiotherapy services to players within Chelsea Women's Academy. Key responsibilities include:
* Providing pitch-side medical cover on matchdays
* Delivering rehabilitation programs for injured players
* Managing acute injuries
* Assessing injuries and supporting return-to-play protocols for academy players in the U12 to U16 age groups
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES (Play Your Part):
* Provide comprehensive physiotherapy services to Chelsea FC Women's Academy teams, predominantly the U15 – U14 age groups, as part of the medical team.
* Deliver physiotherapy support to the Women's Academy, and when required, provide cover for the Women's Emerging Talent Centre (ETC), during training sessions, home and away matches, as well as national and international tournaments.
* Provide first aid cover during sessions at the Cobham Training Ground and Stamford Bridge, as needed.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of injury prevention and performance enhancement programs.
* Conduct injury assessments and treatments in collaboration with other members of the medical team.
* Deliver individualised treatment and rehabilitation programs as part of a multidisciplinary approach.
* Manage and complete all required documentation and reports as requested by coaching, administrative, and club medical staff.
MEASURES OF PERFORMANCE (Here to Win):
* Contribute to the accurate diagnosis and prognosis of injured players and provide written, organised player treatment and rehabilitation programmes.
* Carry out professional treatment standards on all players as set out by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy Core Standards of Physiotherapy Practice (as documented in player's notes).
* Effective communications with the Medical Department Members, squad Managers', Coaches, Players and their families as required.
PERSONAL SPECIFICATION:
Qualifications:
Essential
* Professional degree qualification in Physiotherapy
* Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council
* Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists
* Have a drivers' licence and own car.
* FA Intermediate Trauma and Medical Management in Football (ITMMiF) certificate or FA Advanced Trauma and Medical Management in Football (ATMMiF) certificate
Experience:
Essential
* Have more than 2 years post-graduate experience.
* Be motivated and have a dynamic approach to their work.
* Have good communication skills.
* Be comfortable working in a multi-disciplinary team.
* Be comfortable working evenings and weekends and variable hours on a weekly basis.
* Previous experience working in sport, particularly with children.
