Being a Programming Assistant for the National Trust is all about people: connecting with them, inspiring them, and making sure they have the best possible day when they come to visit. You will assist in the delivery and development of a programme of Summer of Play outdoor activities and events at Speke Hall. Reporting to the Visitor Experience Manager, you’ll be part of a friendly, dynamic team based at Speke Hall. It is an exciting time to join the team as we focus on delivering a Summer of Play to remember at Speke Hall, full of outdoor fun and activities for our visitors. There’s never a dull day working here. This role supports a busy group of properties that welcomes over 1.6 million visitors every year, so you’ll be comfortable getting out and about to make things happen and juggling a varied workload.
Our friendly, outgoing teams are passionate about the work we do to conserve these special places and to share the stories with a wide range of visitors. We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic, adaptable and a full team player, and who enjoys variety. Standards of excellence in customer service and visitor engagement are essential.
Working with the team, you’ll help create and deliver a Summer of Play that brings Speke Hall to life for our visitors, creating magical memories that encourage them to visit all year round. The programme will celebrate each property’s unique characteristics and Spirit of Place to create meaningful connections with our visitors each time they visit.
You will ensure we provide an enjoyable visitor experience, consistently exceeding visitors’ expectations. You may also be involved in outreach engagement activities and events. Understanding how and why we engage our supporters is key. You’ll help link everything we do back to our cause and the ongoing work we do.
You’ll help deliver high standards of presentation so that our day‑to‑day visitor experience is in tip‑top condition and visitors have the best visit possible. You will work alongside and support volunteers and delivery partners to bring our experiences to life, grow audiences and broaden appeal. You’ll likely be checking standards of presentation on site and support the evaluation of visitor programming to continuously improve service and experiences across the portfolio.
