We are looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable Occupational Therapist to join our caring and progressive team in Canterbury, Kent.

You will work as part of a close-knit team dedicated to the health and wellbeing of people in Kent.


Responsibilities

As an Occupational Therapist you will be instrumental in supporting the NHS to deliver exceptional patient care.

* Support clinical teams in delivering high quality care to patients with neurological conditions.
* Draw on your knowledge, experience, and expertise to provide assistance to frontline NHS teams.
* Deliver patient-centred care and contribute to an excellent patient experience.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of national guidelines and best practices.

All responsibilities will be carried out with NHS values of compassion, aspiration, responsiveness, and excellence at the forefront.


Qualifications & Experience


Qualifications – Essential

* Registered health care professional with current HCPC registration.
* Health‑related degree and evidence of relevant postgraduate development.


Qualifications – Desirable

* Management or supervisory qualification or experience, or currently working towards a Master’s level study.


Experience – Essential

* Clinical experience working with patients with neurological diagnoses or impairments.
* Practical experience in managing health‑related projects or complex caseloads.
* Experience supporting others (mentoring, educating, supervising).


Experience – Desirable

* Experience leading and managing teams.
* Experience using Microsoft Office and a variety of IT packages.


Knowledge – Essential

* Understanding of NHS national service frameworks and NICE guidance relevant to the care setting.
* Evidence of continuous professional development within the last 12 months.
* Skills to deliver evidence‑based practice for patients with neurological impairments.


Skills & Abilities – Essential

* Understanding of training needs in relation to post.
* Ability to manage time effectively, prioritise and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
* Ability to work effectively with people at all organisational levels across different sectors.
* Strong influencing, negotiating and communication skills.


Personal Attributes – Essential

* Motivates and organises others to ensure best practice.
* Manages and leads change.
* Full UK driving licence.


Ability to Manage – Essential

* Supports the implementation of local and national health agendas.
* Prioritises care delivery in a professional manner, aligned with Trust policies.
* Manages own time effectively.


Other Information

Applicants must have a full UK driving licence. The role requires the ability to drive to perform duties; if driving is not possible due to disability, applicants may contact the recruitment team for support.
