Job Description
Our client is seeking 2 Contracts Managers, one based in Derby and the other in Wolverhampton. The Contracts Manager will be responsible for delivering assigned projects in accordance with company policies, procedures, EHSQ standards, and financial targets.
This role reports to the Operations Director and involves both office and site work, with site rotations to support project needs.
The successful candidate will liaise daily with clients, Project Managers, QS, EHSQ, Design teams, and the Operations Manager.
Attend tender handover and project start-up meetings.
Familiarize with all contract details and specifications.
Ensure the team understands their roles regarding the project.
Create and engineer project delivery and commissioning programmes.
Manage the RFI process and lead final design efforts.
Issue technical submittals and follow through to approval.
Procure and deliver all large-ticket items in line with the programme.
Manage project budgets.
Collaborate with the QS team on labour-only packages, specialist packages, and cost plans/forecasts.
Set out and manage labour trackers.
Conduct weekly site visits to monitor progress and quality.
Update progress reports weekly and prepare monthly high-level reports for senior management review.
Develop commissioning and close-out plans for direct and subcontracted works.
Evaluate subcontractors and suppliers.
Ensure O&M manuals are delivered complete and on time.
Record all R&D works.
Attend monthly commercial meetings.
Qualifications
Mechanical trade or engineering background.
Previous experience in construction/project management.
Proficiency in MS Project and MS Office Suite.
Experience managing project teams.
Full driving license.
