Principal Electrical Design Engineer / MEP / Building Services Design / Electrical Design

You will join a small management team and be instrumental in shaping the future of the practice and will contribute to business planning and overseeing a team of technicians. Projects are across a wide range of sectors including heritage, healthcare, education and bespoke residential developments.
Responsibilities Principal Electrical Design Engineer
* Assisting clients with the development of a brief defining design requirements and following up with managing client expectations from inception to completion of each project.
* Developing realistic conceptual designs, schematics and detailed designs in order to assist fellow professionals with shaping the building design at an early stage.
* Produce substantiation calculations to demonstrate that designs will perform as required.
* An awareness and understanding of the purpose and principals of a range of mechanical building services systems.
* Proactive approach to communicating with other technicians and engineers within the practice to produce carefully considered and well-coordinated engineering design drawings and written specifications.
* Manage projects against time, cost and quality requirements.
Experience and Qualifications
* A minimum of HNC/HND in Building Services Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
* A minimum of 5 years experience.
* Current membership of at least one relevant professional institution.
* Current full UK driving license and the use of a vehicle for business.
* An interest in sustainable design and energy
* Undertaking electrical and lighting design calculations.
* Thorough understanding and working knowledge of current legislative requirements and design standard.
