Purpose of the Role
This role is ideal for a creative ELT professional with a flair for digital storytelling. You’ll design and present engaging English language learning content tailored for social media platforms, using audio, video, and visual formats. With a deep understanding of teaching English digitally versus in the classroom, you’ll connect with global learners through compelling, accessible materials that reflect BBC Learning English’s standards and style.

Key Responsibilities and Impact
* Develop and present engaging English language teaching content in audio, video, text, and image formats.
* Publish ELT materials across BBC Learning English’s social media platforms and other digital channels.
* Ensure content aligns with BBC Learning English’s strategy and pedagogical approach.
* Adapt teaching materials to suit diverse international audiences and varying levels of English proficiency.
* Collaborate with editorial and production teams to maintain high‑quality, visually compelling output.
Essential Criteria: Skills and Experience
* A DELTA or equivalent ELT qualification.
* Full fluency of the English language including complete comprehension and productive competence in written and spoken forms, and excellent communication skills.
* Ability to write, adapt and edit with accuracy, clarity, simplicity and an engaging style appropriate to differing audiences, differing levels of English comprehension and suitable for various digital and social platforms.
* A passion for and proven experience of creating and delivering impactful and engaging digital, multi‑platform content for young, diverse, English learners.
* Experience of presenting audio and video content for English language learners.
Desirable Criteria
* Recent experience in creating and delivering impactful, engaging English language teaching social media content and managing interactive conversations with English language learners across social media platforms.
* Experience of using graphic, audio and video‑editing packages to create engaging and impactful English language teaching social media content.
* Experience in participating in and managing interactive conversations with learners across social media platforms.
* Experience of presenting live lessons on social media platforms.
* Good knowledge of some social media platforms (e.g. YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok), particularly around posting formats, best practice, engagement and social analytics.
