The role
You will work in NRW's Local Teams providing advice on the sustainable management of Natura 2000 sites to support NRW's Biodiversity and Ecosystem Resilience strategy 'Vital Nature'. This involves collaborating with NRW staff, Welsh Government, landowners, and partners to deliver management agreements, develop projects, monitor progress, and ensure timely and effective delivery.
NRW supports flexible working arrangements. You will be based in an NRW office within the specified location, with a hybrid working pattern to be agreed upon appointment. Any face-to-face meetings or training will be scheduled in advance.

About Us
This position is based in North West Wales and focuses on coastal habitat work across North Wales. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team of 12 staff dedicated to environmental regulation and management of designated sites to achieve NRW's corporate outcomes.
What you will do
* Collaborate with NRW staff, Welsh Government, and external partners to develop projects that reverse biodiversity decline.
* Identify and develop proposals for capital and grant funding aligned with NRW's Vital Nature priorities and SMNR principles.
* Work with the Environment and Land Management Teams and landowners to implement Management Agreements.
* Ensure project implementation and reporting comply with NRW policies and procedures.
* Monitor project progress, interpret data, manage contractors, and ensure outcomes are met, including remedial actions if necessary.
* Undertake health and safety duties relevant to the role.
* Promote NRW's Equal Opportunities and Diversity Policy and understand its application within your responsibilities.
* Engage in personal development using your personal development plan (Sgwrs).
* Perform any other duties appropriate to the role's grade.
* Participate in incident response activities.
Your Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge And Skills
Demonstrate the following using the STAR method:
* Experience in nature conservation, biodiversity, and protected sites in marine or terrestrial environments.
* Experience working with landowners and stakeholders.
* Strong self-management and organizational skills.
* Ability to influence, negotiate, and gain cooperation, including handling difficult situations.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer focus.
* Ability to build effective relationships with colleagues and partners.
* Skill in writing clear, concise technical reports.
* Proficiency with IT systems such as GIS or NRW-specific applications.
* Teamwork skills.
* Valid UK driving license for NRW fleet vehicles.
Welsh Language Level Requirements
* Essential: Level C2 - Fluent in both spoken and written Welsh.
