I am partnering with a leading financial services organisation to hire a Systems Accountant a high-impact role at the intersection of finance, systems, and business transformation.
This position sits within Finance Operations and plays a pivotal role in ensuring that accounting processes remain accurate, controlled, and scalable as the business evolves. From system enhancements and platform integrations to new business onboarding and M&A activity, you will act as the key finance representative safeguarding the integrity of financial data and processes.
Key Responsibilities
* Take the lead on investigating complex accounting discrepancies raised by finance teams.
* Diagnose root causes of unusual ledger activity, including system or integration-related issues.
* Work collaboratively with technology and data teams to implement long-term, sustainable solutions.
* Act as the Finance Operations voice across key initiatives including M&A, system integrations, and new business launches.
* Review and challenge proposed accounting treatments, data flows, controls, and reconciliation processes.
* Translate system and process changes into clear, practical workflows for Finance Operations teams.
* Support testing phases, ensuring outputs align with accounting expectations.
* Oversee the transition into BAU, ensuring robust controls, documentation, and ownership are in place.
About You
* A background in finance operations, accounting processes, or reconciliations.
* Proven ability to investigate and resolve complex financial or data-related issues.
* Experience working alongside technology or change teams on system implementations or transformations.
* Confidence in engaging and influencing senior stakeholders, with the ability to challenge constructively.
* Exposure to M&A integration, onboarding, or large-scale system change (beneficial but not essential).
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to break down complex topics clearly.
* A proactive, continuous improvement mindset with a focus on driving operational excellence.
