The Role
We are recruiting for an Audit Assistant Manager in Cambridge on behalf of a highly respected Top 10 UK accountancy firm. In this role, you will oversee audit engagements, acting as the key link between seniors and managers. You'll review work, resolve complex issues, manage team performance, liaise directly with clients, and ensure high-quality audits are delivered in line with professional standards. You will also play a key part in developing and supporting junior team members.

* Lead discussions at client meetings and resolve audit matters efficiently.
* Identify staffing needs on larger jobs and track budgets effectively.

* Review client-prepared financial statements prior to partner review.
* Monitor industry developments and use this knowledge to support fee proposals.
* Attend audit committee/board meetings to present findings.
* Act as a year‑round point of contact for client queries.
* Manage quality review findings and support remediation activities.
Qualifications
* Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CA) or qualified by experience
Essential Experience
* Experience gained in an accountancy practice.
* Strong technical grounding developed alongside professional studies.
* Proven experience supervising, leading, or mentoring audit staff.
