We’re looking for a Programme Manager to provide leadership to a technically challenging, multi‑project programme, with responsibility for the successful delivery of a £10M portfolio, ensuring on‑time, on‑budget, and on‑scope performance. As Programme Manager, you will provide structured oversight, governance, and leadership to protect revenue, margin, and customer commitments. You will coordinate engineering, operations, supply chain, and supplier activities to ensure seamless execution, maintain schedule integrity, and manage risk across all workstreams, ultimately ensuring the full portfolio is delivered on time and in budget. Key Responsibilities Programme Leadership & Delivery Lead end‑to‑end delivery of a complex, multi‑project programme (~£10M value). Maintain the integrated master schedule, ensuring alignment across engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and customers. Identify and manage cross‑project dependencies to prevent bottlenecks and schedule conflicts. Ensure all customer requirements, milestones, and contractual obligations are met. Governance, Reporting & Control Maintain robust governance processes, including programme reviews, stage gates, and change control. Produce consolidated, executive‑ready reporting covering schedule, cost, financial performance, risks, and issues. Apply project management tools and methodologies including Earned Value, risk registers, and resource planning. Risk, Cost & Margin Protection Identify risks early and drive mitigation actions across all functions. Prevent scope creep, rework, and resource inefficiencies that could impact schedule or financials. Support management of supplier performance and contractual adherence. Ensure compliance with relevant industry, quality, and security standards (e.g. AS9100, DO‑254, DEF STANs). Stakeholder & Customer Engagement Maintain clear communication channels across internal and external stakeholders. Manage customer expectations with professionalism, clarity, and calmness. Facilitate timely decision‑making, escalating strategically when required. Act as the focal point for programme queries, updates, and coordination. Skills, Experience & Qualifications Essential Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience. Proven project or programme management experience in electronics, engineering, or manufacturing, ideally within the Aerospace & Defence sector. Experience managing complex projects of similar scale up to ~£10M with multidisciplinary teams. Understanding of production planning, manufacturing processes, and technical problem-solving. Experience managing supplier performance, subcontractors, and contractual deliverables. Experience coordinating cross‑functional teams including engineering, operations, supply chain, suppliers, and customer interfaces. Strong competence in cost, scope management, scheduling, risk management, reporting tools, and Earned Value concepts. Background working within highly regulated or standards‑driven sectors. Desirable Project management accreditation (APM PMQ, PRINCE2, PMI, or equivalent). Knowledge of LEAN, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement practices. Evidence of driving operational excellence, standardised processes, and programme‑level continuous improvement. Personal Attributes Self driven and capable of working with minimum supervision. Analytical and structured thinker with strong problem‑solving skills. Ability to anticipate bottlenecks, delivery conflicts, and risks before they impact schedule or cost. Strong influencing skills without direct authority and an ability to keep stakeholders focused on scope, priorities, and programme objectives.
