Our stunning care home, Guiseley Manor Care Centre, is a purpose-built 72-bed facility situated in Guiseley, West Yorkshire, Leeds. The home provides high standards of safety, comfort, and care for residents with diverse needs, including residential, nursing, and dementia care. It reflects the New Care vision of delivering the highest standards of safety, comfort, and care. We invest in the latest technology and offer a purposeful program of activities and gentle exercise to enhance residents' wellbeing. All team members are carefully selected for their warmth and passion, with comprehensive induction and ongoing training from our in-house trainers and the New Care Academy. We pride ourselves on a permanent staff team, having had no agency staff for over four years, to ensure continuity and trust with our residents. All staff are paid at least the national living wage.
We are seeking a kind, caring, and motivated Team Leader to join our team. You will support the Home Manager and Deputy Home Manager in providing leadership and effective 24-hour management of the home within available resources. Training will be provided for therapy services, and this role will be enhanced within the home. We offer full-time contracts with an excellent hourly rate of £13.50. Shift times are 19:45-08:00, with alternate weekends. To apply, you must have a care certificate or NVQ Level 2 or above in Health and Social Care, with experience in medication management and administration.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Promote the highest standard of person-centred clinical nursing care to residents.
2. Manage, allocate duties, and supervise the care team to ensure quality care delivery during shifts.
3. Be a role model demonstrating person-centred care.
4. Take responsibility for safeguarding the welfare of adults in your care or contact.
5. Manage the delivery of residents' personalized care according to their care plans during your shift.
6. Support professional standards within the home, assisting the Deputy and Home Manager.
7. Provide supervision, coaching, and assessment to Care Assistants.
8. Ensure effective assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of resident care through written care plans.
9. Maintain accurate records as required by the company and regulatory bodies.
10. Manage daily rotas and delegate workload to ensure safe and sufficient staffing.
11. Complete new admission files within the first week of arrival, involving the named nurse, senior carer, and key worker.
12. Build relationships with external professionals.
13. Assist the home manager in conducting regular quality audits of care plans.
Skills and Experience Required:
1. Medication management and administration experience.
2. Experience working with older people.
3. Care certificate or NVQ Level 2 in Social Care or above is essential.
4. NVQ Level 3 in Social Care or equivalent, or achievement within the first 12 months of employment.
5. Ability to contribute to assessment, planning, and evaluation of older people's care needs.
6. Knowledge of the 6 principles of care and their application in residential/nursing care.
7. Good oral and written communication skills.
8. Self-motivation and confidence.
