We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our team.
The neonatal support worker will be responsible for general cleaning of equipment, restocking and tidying of the nursery areas.
This role ensures the smooth running of the unit.
This is a non-clinical role and does not involve any direct patient care.
Main duties of the job
Work closely with the neonatal team to prioritise workload to ensure the smooth running of the neonatal unit.
Ensure equipment is cleaned daily and ready to use.
Ensure that all consumables are stocked up, and linen available.
Contribute to the welcoming environment for staff, patients and visitors.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
1. Work closely with other members of the integrated team.
2. Communicate verbally in an appropriate manner with colleagues and relatives, including in situations where relatives may be distressed.
3. Respect and maintain the patient/families right to dignity
4. Ensure the nursery is clean and stocked and equipped to a safe and high standard
5. Ensure equipment is cleaned daily and following use e.g. incubators, phototherapy equipment, suction machines, breast pumps
6. Ensure equipment is in a safe condition and report any defect appropriately.
7. Adhere to trust infection control policy.
8. Take responsibility for all baby linen, reporting when stocks are low.
9. Report and if necessary, challenge behaviour that infringes the rights of others
10. Have a duty and a responsibility to protect and safeguard children, in accordance with National Child Protection guidelines and local policies
11. Ensure equipment is in a safe and clean condition.
12. Answer the telephones and door when required.
13. Contribute to a welcoming atmosphere on the unit.
14. Check and assist in maintainingparents kitchen and bedrooms.
