Are you a compassionate, skilled, and dedicated individual ready to make a significant difference in the educational journey of our pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Part-Time Teaching Assistant to join our supportive SEND team. This is a crucial and rewarding role where you will provide dedicated 1:1 support for children with an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) and deliver general in-class SEND support to ensure all children can access their learning and thrive within a vibrant mainstream setting. The Role: Making a Real Impact Hours: 5 mornings per week, 9:00 am – 11:00 am (10 hours per week, term time only). Focus: Your primary efforts will be dedicated to supporting children with EHCPs to fully access the curriculum, build independence, and flourish socially and emotionally. You will work flexibly across different classes and age groups as needed, providing small group or individual interventions. Contract: This post is temporary until the end of the Summer Term 2026 in the first instance, subject to funding. However, we are deeply committed to retaining excellent staff and are optimistic that the role will be extended while the children requiring support remain at our school and the necessary external funding continues. We Are Looking For a Candidate Who Will: Provide personalised and consistent 1:1 support for pupils with EHCPs, meticulously following the strategies outlined in their plans. Offer flexible, in-class SEND assistance to children with various needs, promoting independence and helping them overcome barriers to learning. Innovate and create bespoke resources that meet the individual needs and interests of the children you support. Act as a nurturing and vigilant key worker, ensuring all pupils feel safe, secure, and fully included in the learning environment. Demonstrate a proactive approach, confidently working on your own initiative while also being an excellent, communicative member of our wider team. Possess outstanding interpersonal skills and professionalism, allowing you to build effective, positive relationships with pupils, parents, colleagues, and external professionals.
