We need Front End Engineers who will work within our Working Age Services team who are responsible for one of the core benefits service, Universal Credit.

What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?
* Significant demonstrable expertise in Front-end development of large-scale systems dealing with high numbers of users, transactions and business processes.
* Experience in building accessible compliant user interfaces.
* Proven ability in delivering thorough unit level test coverage using common testing frameworks such as Jest or Mocha.
* Experience integrating with a wide range of technical systems including database technologies (SQL or NoSQL), caching tools such as Redis and API Microservices, all deploying into cloud-based infrastructure. (AWS or Azure).
* Influential and able to lead front-end activities, set and develop best practice for an agile team and contribute across multiple teams. You will ensure consistency whilst promoting standards as well as creating a coaching and mentoring culture.
You and your role
As a Front End Developer you'll be part of our brilliant Engineering community.
You will be leading and promoting the technical direction and development of reusable patterns and components.
You will be using modern tooling and development techniques to write and share test-driven code, which we deliver iteratively.
Your work will be an enabler for multiple teams, driving consistency, standards, pace and quality, resolving technical blockers, and promoting re-use and collaboration through the wider communities.
Location: You'll join us in one of our brilliant digital hubs in Leeds, London, Manchester or Newcastle-upon-Tyne, whichever is most convenient for you.
Hybrid Working: We work a hybrid model - you'll spend some time working at home and sometime collaborating face to face in a hub.
Pay: We offer pay of up to £73,350.
Pension: You'll get a brilliant civil service pension with employer contributions worth 28.97%, worth up to £16,094 per year.
Holidays: A generous leave package starting at 26 days and rising to 31 days over time.
You can also take up to 3 extra days off a month on flexi-time. You'll also get all the usual public holidays.
