Pay and Hours
Pharmacy Dispenser rate of pay starts from £12.87 an hour; this increases to £14.08 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location. New colleagues receive a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, with flexible options down to 12 hours.
Availability Window
* Sun: 10:00 – 14:30
* Mon: 14:30 – 20:00
* Thu: 08:00 – 15:00
* Sat: 13:00 – 20:00
Shifts are scheduled within these windows with 3‑week notice.
About the role
Customers are at the heart of everything we do. The role involves dispensing medicines, offering vaccinations, reviewing medication use, checking blood pressure, and providing community‑focused healthcare. You will work alongside experienced pharmacists and managers, receiving local support and training.
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting the operation of one of our modern Pharmacies.
* Applying technical skills and strong customer focus to accurately dispense medication.
* Dispensing prescription medicines with meticulous attention to detail.
* Communicating confidently and professionally to deliver great customer service.
* Providing information on common ailments, symptoms, and products.
* Understanding customer needs, explaining product benefits, and recommending suitable items.
* Advising on the range of pharmacy services available.
* Delivering pharmacy services and the dispensing process according to SOPs.
* Assessing the legal appropriateness of dispensed prescriptions.
* Handling clinical and legal queries from healthcare practitioners within competence.
* Responding to customer queries regarding prescription medicines and reporting complaints.
* Maintaining all dispensary routines and SOPs.
* Ensuring dispensary and consulting rooms are clean, tidy, and clutter‑free.
* Ensuring prescription administration is accurate and timely.
* Bringing promotional activities and company initiatives to life.
* Carrying out procedures accurately to protect profit and ensure safe, legal trade.
* Completing corporate and departmental training.
* Keeping up to date with legal and professional developments in pharmacy.
Required Qualifications
* Qualifications gained from working in a pharmacy environment.
* A desire to train and develop further into the pharmacy field.
