Overview
As an Associate Practitioner you will be required to perform ECGs in line with departmental policies and to work as a supervised practitioner within the Cardiac Laboratory in a range of diagnostic tests. Duties will include a range of basic cardiac investigations and it is essential to have completed or be willing to work towards a foundation degree in Healthcare Science.
Cardiology Labs
The Cardiology Labs offers a wide range of diagnostic procedures including:
* Full range of non‑invasive cardiac diagnostics, ECG and ambulatory monitoring
* Echocardiography including TOE, Stress Echo, and 3D imaging
* Physiologist‑led Tilt Table service
* Physiologist‑led exercise service
* Pacing implants and follow‑up
* Cardiac catheterisation
Responsibilities
* Record ECGs on the wards, in the department, in outpatients, accident and emergency and in the community.
* Interpret ECGs proficiently.
* Assist physiologists in Transoesophageal Echocardiography.
* Assist in the clinical management of patients undergoing cardiac investigations within the Cardiology Labs.
* Assist with Physiologist‑led Tilt Table service.
* Assist with Physiologist‑led exercise service.
* Conduct non‑complex ambulatory ECG analysis (reports to be countersigned by a Qualified Cardiac physiologist).
Qualifications
Applications are invited from a well‑motivated band 4 Associate Practitioner or suitably experienced band 3 assistant technical officer.
