The Role
The purpose of this role, is to assist with cost estimation, budgeting, and financial tracking across a range of projects, helping to deliver high-quality, compliant fire door and passive fire solutions.
You will support the preparation of quotations, analyse material and labour costs, and ensure projects stay on budget while meeting safety and regulatory standards.
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in procurement, site monitoring, and project reporting, working closely with experienced surveyors in a fast-growing and highly specialized industry.

Key Responsibilities (Duties):
* Assist the Commercial Manager and team in preparing accurate cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts for ongoing and upcoming projects.
* Prepare and review quotations and tender documents, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
* Analyse material, labour, and subcontractor costs to support effective cost control.
* Support procurement activities, including sourcing materials and liaising with suppliers to secure best value.
* Monitor project progress and cost performance, reporting any variances or potential risks.
* Ensure all work complies with industry safety standards and fire door regulations.
* Assist Commercial Manager with valuations, progress claims, and final account preparation.
* Maintain comprehensive and organised project records and documentation for audits and reporting purposes.
* Collaborate with site teams to ensure smooth communication and delivery of works.
About you
* Strong numerical and analytical skills for accurate cost calculations
* Good understanding of construction processes and materials
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic quantity surveying software
* Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in reports and documentation
* Effective communication and teamwork skills for collaborating with colleagues and suppliers
* Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment
* Basic knowledge of building regulations and fire safety standards (or willingness to learn)
* Problem-solving skills to identify and address cost or project issues
* Eagerness to learn and develop under the guidance of Commercial Manager and senior Commercial team members
