Assistant Trade Development Manager – Import Trans-Atlantic Full time, permanent We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Trade Development Manager to join the Commercial department, overseeing the Import Trans-Atlantic lanes (which includes USA, Canada, Mexico and Caribbean) on behalf of the Trade Manager. Day-to-day supervision of the department with an emphasis on leading, motivating and developing the team. Manage own workload and ensure that the team members are motivated, trained and always engaged so that they provide an outstanding level of service. Ensure that excellent communication is maintained with other parts of the business and MSC Geneva. How you will help us and what you can expect Support the Trade Manager in the day-to-day functions and to maximise growth opportunities for the Trade Organise and hold one to one meetings, team meetings and performance reviews Define and review individual performance contracts, in conjunction with MSC standards Develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours of all team members Build close relationships with origin agents and MSC Geneva Liners Maintain a close working relationship with other parts of the business on behalf of the dept, to encourage cross-departmental collaboration and positively promote the trade team Assist with any reports, statistics, analysis and market research required Any other supporting documents and reports to support the Trade Manager Attend both Internal and External meetings and visits in the absence of the Trade Manager Work closely with the Trade Manager to ensure that agreed strategies are being implemented and followed to ensure desired results are obtained Skills and experience you’ll bring to us Ability to develop and maximise the skills and productivity of an individual as well as a team Management and supervision of a team Ability to influence and implement change in the workplace Previous experience of reporting & compiling statistics Experience of team development and maximising efficiency and results Ability to generate individual commitment and ownership for tasks and functions Ability to remain calm and resilient under pressure Ability to prioritise workloads and work to tight deadlines Excellent communication skills Time management Ability to demonstrate a professional manner at all times Be confident to liaise effectively with key stakeholders and Director level associates, including speaking directly with Geneva Principles What we offer Competitive salary Private Health Care for everyone from day 1 (non contractual) Generous pension scheme Life Assurance – 4x salary 22 days a day to take on Christmas Eve or New Year’s Eve Free parking On-site artisan restaurant Discounted gym membership Cycle to work scheme Flu vaccines and eye care vouchers Buy or sell holiday scheme Christmas club saving MSC Cruises friends and family discount Full induction day and training provided Learning and development opportunities Dress for the day policy/modern office environment
