NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. This is a part time (20) hours post per week, working 5PA's per week.
This post offers 5 Programmed Activities (PA’s) as a specialty doctor in North Glasgow. The sessions will include clinics of General Dermatology and/or Skin Lesions,
Adult dermatology services in Greater Glasgow and Clyde are provided by the clinical directorate of dermatology, the Alan Lyell Centre for Dermatology. The Directorate works on a hub and spoke model, with some specialised and tertiary services based at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. This is the regional adult dermatology centre for approximately 1.5 million people in the West of Scotland.
Local adult dermatology services are delivered at eight hospital sites Glasgow Royal Infirmary, Inverclyde Royal Hospital, Royal Alexandra Hospital, Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Stobhill Hospital, Vale of Leven Hospital, New Victoria Hospital and Gartnavel General Hospital. Each of these sites provides a range of dermatology out-patient services.
Dermatology services are provided by a multidisciplinary team of practitioners including Consultants, Specialty doctors, GP clinical assistants and specialist dermatology nurses. The QEUH forms the hub for subspecialty clinics.
The successful candidate will join the team of GGC Dermatologists, whose special interests across GGC include cutaneous surgery (including Mohs surgery), skin cancer, urticaria, photodermatology, contact dermatitis, severe psoriasis, teaching, genodermatoses, paediatric dermatology, connective tissue disorders, lymphoma and hair disorders.
You Must Meet The Following Criteria
* shall have full registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council (GMC); and
* shall have completed at least four years’ full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a less than full-time or flexible basis) at least two of which will be in a specialty training programme or specialty registrar locum appointment for training (LAT); or
* shall have equivalent training, experience or competencies, either in the UK or overseas.
