Are you methodical? Do you pride yourself on your attention to detail and accuracy? Are you patient focused? Then this may be the new career for you!
There has never been a more exciting time for continued personal development and career pathways for candidates with the right outlook, work ethic and commitment.
Working in Aseptic Services is a vocation. It is technical, detailed, sometimes repetitive but the learning never ends.
We provide a range of injectable medicines, e.g. chemotherapy and total parenteral nutrition (TPN) for patients, using isolator cabinets in a cleanroom environment.
Responsibilities
Working as part of a team, once trained you would be responsible for making medicines using needles and syringes.
Working under supervision you will also rotate through other areas of the department, e.g. stores, assembly etc. You need to be able to follow procedures to the letter and document things clearly and concisely.
As a band 2 you will be trained to:
– to aseptically prepare products for patient administration – wear clean‑room clothing and work following strict clean‑room behaviours.
– assemble trays containing consumables and ingredients for 1st‑stage checks, therefore must be able to document information clearly and accurately.
– perform transfer sanitisation using isopropyl alcohol and other disinfectants and be responsible for cleaning equipment and areas or work on a regular basis.
Qualifications
No experience is necessary for the band 2 position as comprehensive training will be given.
This position offers progression from Band 2 to Band 3 after completion of training and qualification.
Only candidates with suitable experience and NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or accepted equivalent may apply for the Band 3 position.
IMPORTANT: Candidates who fail to supply a detailed supporting statement specifying how their skills and experience match the person specification contained in the job description will not be invited for interview.
Unfortunately, this role does not meet the criteria required to qualify for sponsorship.
