Overview We are seeking a reliable and proactive Estates & Maintenance Operative / Caretaker to support the smooth running, safety, and presentation of a busy college campus. This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work, and is comfortable working both indoors and outdoors across a large site. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar estates, facilities, or campus‑based role and be confident carrying out a blend of building maintenance, grounds duties, and general caretaking tasks. Key Responsibilities Campus & Building Maintenance Carry out day‑to‑day maintenance, repairs, and basic fabric tasks across college buildings. Support planned preventative maintenance activities as directed by the Estates team. Respond to maintenance requests, ensuring issues are resolved promptly and safely. Assist with room setups, furniture moves, and general caretaking duties. Grounds & External Areas Maintain external areas including pathways, courtyards, green spaces, and car parks. Undertake grounds work such as litter picking, sweeping, basic gardening, and seasonal tasks (e.g., gritting). Ensure the campus remains clean, safe, and welcoming for students, staff, and visitors.
