Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Ward Manager on the acute cardiac unit at GUH to join our team.
The role of the Band 6 is to support, contribute to and assist the Senior Sister in the leadership and the management of the unit team and to support the Senior Sister in the development, monitoring and implementation of high quality, evidence-based clinical care to ensure continuity of service provision and standards are maintained and improved.
The Band 6 Sister will act as a role model for staff on the ward sharing knowledge and information and supporting colleagues and members of the multidisciplinary team.
Main duties of the job
1. To assist with the management of the ward on a day to day basis by supporting and acting on behalf the ward manager.
2. To be aware and demonstrate practice based on current advances in nursing.
3. Work in conjunction with other disciplines in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care.
4. To promote evidence based practise and act as an accountable role model and clinical expertis
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
