Trainee Vehicle Technician
We're looking for someone who wants to build a career in the motor trade at Jock Sergison's - a trusted, independent garage serving Doncaster since 1974. Rated 4.7/5 on Google, we're the highest-rated independent garage in our area.
This is a hands-on role where you'll learn from experienced technicians while working towards a recognised qualification.
Important: You will also help out in the office — answering phones, greeting customers and learning how the business works from the front desk. This gives you a complete understanding of the business before moving fully into the workshop.
The Role
In the workshop, you'll be learning to:
· Carry out vehicle servicing and maintenance
· Assist with mechanical repairs under supervision
· Learn vehicle diagnostics and fault-finding
· Tyre fitting, wheel balancing and alignment
· MOT preparation and pre-inspection checks
· Maintain a clean and safe working environment
· Use technical data systems (Haynes) for repair information
About You
· Genuinely interested in cars and how they work
· Willing to learn - you don't need to know everything, but you need to want to
· Good with your hands and not afraid of hard work
· Reliable and punctual
· Good communication skills - you'll be working with customers and colleagues
· A full UK driving licence is helpful but not essential
