Join Truro and Penwith College and play a vital role in attracting, appointing and onboarding the people who help transform lives through education.

We’re looking for an experienced HR Associate with a strong recruitment and staffing focus to support our managers during a busy and exciting period for the College.

🚀 The Role

This is a hands-on, people-facing role where recruitment is front and centre. You’ll manage the full recruitment lifecycle, ensuring a smooth, compliant and positive experience for candidates and hiring managers alike.

Key responsibilities include:

•Managing end-to-end recruitment, from vacancy approval to onboarding

•Screening applications, coordinating shortlisting and interviews

•Supporting managers to recruit efficiently, effectively and cost-consciously

•Issuing contracts, coordinating inductions and ensuring timely starts

•Maintaining recruitment data, tracking activity and producing reports

•Ensuring compliance with safer recruitment requirements and the Single Central Record

Alongside recruitment, you’ll provide generalist HR support, acting as a trusted first point of contact for managers and staff.

👥 What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for someone who is:

•CIPD Level 5 qualified

•Experienced in recruitment, HR administration and employee relations

•Confident managing multiple vacancies and priorities at pace

•Highly organised, detail-focused and confident using HR systems

•Knowledgeable in employment law and safer recruitment practices

•Professional, approachable and comfortable advising managers

Experience in the FE or education sector is highly desirable, but not essential.
