Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with young children and a commitment to fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment. This role involves supporting the daily activities within the nursery, ensuring the safety and well-being of all children, and assisting in their developmental growth.
Responsibilities
* Assist in the planning and implementation of engaging activities that promote learning and development in line with early childhood education principles.
* Supervise and interact with children during playtime, ensuring their safety and encouraging positive social interactions.
* Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to foster a supportive community within the nursery.
* Manage daily routines, including meal times, nap times, and hygiene practices, ensuring a clean and organised environment.
* Support the lead nursery staff in maintaining records of each child's progress and development.
* Drive initiatives that promote inclusivity and diversity within the nursery setting.
Skills
* Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
* Experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting is highly desirable.
* Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices.
* Leadership qualities to inspire and guide children during activities.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a calm demeanour in a busy environment.
* A genuine passion for childcare, with an understanding of the developmental needs of young children.
