Job Title: Research Assistant - EU-funded AI4SOFTENG Project
The Department of Computer Science at the University of Reading is seeking to appoint a Research Assistant to join the EU-funded project AI4SOFTENG. The project aims to exploit advanced AI-powered software development support to deliver high-quality, reliable, and fast-to-market software and AI systems that are socially responsible, scalable, sustainable, and compliant with ethical and regulatory standards. This is a fixed-term position for 36 months.

Candidate Requirements
1. An undergraduate or master’s degree in Computer Science or an Engineering discipline with computing content, demonstrating experience in AI-Software Engineering and Data Modelling, or equivalent work experience.
2. Programming skills in languages such as C++, C#, Java, Python, R, supported by a strong software engineering background.
3. Knowledge of AI & Data Science techniques, including designing and implementing Machine Learning and Data Mining algorithms, with an emphasis on Security-by-Design.
4. Data Engineering and Visualization skills, especially Layered Dashboard Design.
5. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
