Assessment and Engagement Recovery Worker
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Horizons, a vibrant new partnership delivering substance use treatment and recovery services in Bristol. Horizons is delivered in partnership between Turning Point, Bristol Drugs Project, and seven other local and national partners. The partnership combines Turning Point's experience as an outstanding national substance use provider together with Bristol Drugs Project's long history of excellent service delivery in the city. You will work across three hubs in North, South and Central Bristol, helping to develop personal, flexible and realistic support packages for service users to help turn things around.
Salary starts at £25,116 and rises each year in line with pay progression bands, up to £29,383 per year. (Dependent on experience you may be offered a starting salary above the initial amount).

Role Responsibilities
* Operate an open access drop-in 6 days a week.
* Provide needle and syringe provision, naloxone and blood borne virus testing.
* Support a variety of partner organisations and participate in research projects.
* Hold a caseload of people seeking to change their use of drugs (e.g., ketamine, cocaine, cannabis).
* Provide the full range of treatment options from harm minimisation and brief interventions to detox, rehab and aftercare.
* Build rapport quickly and maintain excellent organisational skills to manage a busy diary.
* Work in partnership with wider Bristol Horizons teams to deliver service ambitions.
* Be organised, resilient, focused, able to work in a team or independently, have good communication skills, and be innovative in approach.
The Ideal Candidate
* Strong engagement skills with flexibility, persistence and imagination in engaging service users.
* Confidence setting boundaries and working with people experiencing emotional dysregulation.
* Ability to liaise effectively with other organisations, including GPs and other health professionals.
* Belief in an individual's capacity for change and ability to motivate others to change.
* Commitment to reducing harm caused by substance use to individuals, families and communities.
* Experience completing assessments with new service users, delivering key working sessions, compiling risk assessments, risk management plans, care planning and reduction plans.
* Excellent IT skills with knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook.
* Holding a full driving licence and having access to a car is desirable.
