Swimming Teachers Start Date: ASAP Salary: £15.60- £17.52 per hour Salary Grade: Grade 6 (Must be Level 2 SE or STA Certificate Teacher) Contract Term: Casual Hours of Duty: Variable throughout Mon – Thurs evening ( Hours will include Tues 4pm – 7pm and Thursday 4pm – 8pm) Additional opportunities will be available to cover as required learn to swim lessons which run Monday – Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings. Further regular teaching opportunities will arise in the future. Lymm Leisure Centre (based at Lymm High School) is looking for passionate, enthusiastic and reliable swimming teachers to join our fantastic teaching team. We deliver high quality swimming lessons following the ‘Swim England Learn to Swim framework’ to over 650 swimmers each week. In addition, we deliver Primary School swimming lessons to children in the local area. Your primary role will be to teach people of various ages and abilities, including adults, to develop swimming skills, technique and confidence in the water in a safe environment. Swimming lessons will be assessed against the KS2 National Curriculum criteria. Our Learn to swim lessons follow Swim Englands learn to swim pathway. There will also be an opportunity to teach Rookie Lifeguard lessons. Main Duties To be a positive role model, creating a positive and fun environment in which to motivate and encourage children and adults to participate in swimming. Deliver lessons ensuring adherence to the scheme of work. Ensure safe provision of all equipment and ensure it is used correctly Identify participants’ abilities and encourage them to reach their full potential Demonstrate swimming techniques Correct faults in swimming techniques and identify ways to improve performance Regularly assess each participant’s ability and progress, marking off on our assessment sheets weekly.
