Part‑Qualified Accountant – Bristol (Hybrid)

This opportunitysits within an established and growing finance function based in Bristol. The position offers hybrid working, with a minimum of three days per week in the office and flexibility for remote working on the remaining days. The role is suited to individuals studying toward a recognised accounting qualification and looking to broaden their technical experience within a structured and supportive finance environment.

Your New Role

As a Part‑Qualified Accountant, you will contribute to the delivery of accurate financial information and support the month‑end close process. Working as part of a collaborative team, you will be involved in a range of accounting tasks spanning journals, reconciliations, cash and asset management, and financial controls.

You will also assist in maintaining high standards of consistency andpliance across the finance function, supporting continuous improvement and, where relevant, reviewing workpleted by colleagues or shared service teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Prepare month‑end journals in line with internal deadlines and accounting standards.
2. plete core accounting activities including fixed asset accounting, bank reconciliations, intepany transactions, and balance sheet reconciliations.
3. Perform initial reviews of profit and loss accounts to ensure the accuracy of reported results.
4. Maintain balance sheet integrity through regular analysis and identification of unusual or judgement‑based items.
5. Review work produced by shared service, offshore, or junior team members, providing constructive feedback as required.
6. Support the maintenance and development of process documentation to ensure consistent and efficient ways of working.
7. Identify opportunities to streamline, standardise, or automate processes across the finance function.

What You Will Need to Succeed

8. Experience gained within a finance or accounting environment, ideally within a medium or large organisation.
9. Practical experience preparing journals, reconciliations, and other key month‑end deliverables.
10. Strong Excel skills and the ability to work confidently with financial and ERP systems.
11. Excellent attention to detail and a methodical, analytical approach to problem‑solving.
12. Strongmunication skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, auditors, and stakeholders at all levels.
13. Experience working with shared service centres or offshore teams is advantageous, though not essential.
14. Active study toward ACCA, CIMA, ACA or an equivalent qualification, with several exams still toplete.
