Working Capital Project Director
Contract 6- 12 months +
To lead a targeted working capital optimisation programme across a large, multi-site hospitality estate. The focus will be on stock control, accounts payable, and supplier payment terms, with limited accounts receivable exposure. The role will drive commercial value, process improvement, and cultural change across the supply chain and finance functions.
Key Skills & Responsibilities
* Unlock £Millions of working capital across AP and stock.
* Lead stock control transformation across multiple UK sites (e.g. low-turnover items).
* Review and renegotiate supplier payment terms.
* Drive commercial negotiation edge across procurement and supply chain.
* Coach and upskill internal teams on working capital principles.
* Align working capital strategy with broader business objectives
* Conduct deep-dive reviews of AP, stock, and supplier terms.
* Develop and implement working capital improvement roadmap.
* Engage with site-level teams to understand stock realities.
* Visit depots and key locations to assess operational practices.
Knowledge & Experience
* Proven experience in hospitality, retail, or other large multi-site businesses/Industries
* Strong grasp of stock control, AP, and supplier negotiations.
* Commercially astute with a process improvement mindset.
* Comfortable working across finance, supply chain, and operations.
* Strong communicator and coach, able to influence at all levels.
