Hareside Primary School is seeking to appoint a Caretaker to join our committed and highly successful site team. We are looking for a proactive, motivated, and reliable individual who takes pride in their work and enjoys being part of a supportive and dedicated school community.
The successful candidate will work closely with our Site Manager to help ensure the school environment is safe, clean, and well-maintained for pupils, staff, and visitors.
Key responsibilities include:
* Supporting and promoting compliance with Health & Safety legislation and school policies
* Assisting with the upkeep and cleanliness of the school site, both internally and externally
* Carrying out minor repairs, routine maintenance, and general DIY tasks
* Ensuring outdoor areas are free from litter and hazards, including clearing leaves, snow, and ice from access routes
* Maintaining high cleaning standards and completing cleaning tasks when required
* Conducting regular fire safety and building checks in line with statutory requirements
Working Hours:
This role operates on a two-week rotating shift pattern:
* Week 1 (Early Shift): 6:45am – 12:30pm
* Week 2 (Late Shift):
* Monday to Thursday: 12:00pm – 6:00pm
* Friday: 12:15pm – 5:00pm
* Lettings Duty: On late shift weeks, the caretaker will be required to stay until 8:00pm on Mondays to support external lettings. (Overtime will be paid)
Please note that holidays are not permitted during term time, in line with school policy.
