Who we are?
Cortex Research is a UK-based frontier AI research company building next-generation, UK-native AI systems for both B2B and B2C applications.
We are currently preparing for a Seed funding round and are looking for a Founding Engineer to join the company at an early stage and help shape the technical and product foundations of Cortex Research.
About the Role
As a Founding Engineer, you will work closely with the founding team and take ownership across several core areas of the business, including:
•Data scraping and data collection pipelines
•Dataset research and data analysis
•UI design and prototyping using modern, AI-assisted tools
•Collaborating on product direction, experimentation, and technical decisions
This is a broad, hands-on role with real ownership and influence over the company’s direction.
Who We Are Looking For
This role may be a good fit if you:
•Hold a BSc in Computer Science or a related degree
•Are comfortable working across data, engineering, and product
•Are eager to learn new technologies and explore emerging AI tools
•Enjoy collaborating closely in a small, fast-moving team
•Want meaningful startup experience with long-term growth potential
•Are motivated by ownership, responsibility, and building something from the ground up.
