You would be based inour Leeds office. Our clients are varied and widespread throughout theUK and we are therefore now able to offer flexible workingarrangements to all our staff.
We are looking for collaborativeand motivated Senior Building Safety Consultants to deliver ahigh-quality service for our clients. Our Building Safety Assuranceservice focuses on assisting designers with the Building RegulationsPrincipal Designer role (both in-house and to our clients) andassisting clients to comply with their duties.
Your Purpose:
* Advising and assisting clients and in-house teams infulfilling their responsibilities under the Building Regulations 2010(As Amended) and the Building Safety Act 2022.
* Delivering theBuilding Regulations Principal Designer function for clients as setout in the Building Regulations 2010 (As Amended).
* Use theirskills and knowledge to work with designers to review buildingregulations compliance in design and to help develop practicalsolutions in line with legislation and best practice.
* Undertaking a wide range of Building Safety Consultancyduties in line with agreed service deliverables.
* Undertakingbuilding regulation compliance audits and site inspections to ensurecompliance is achieved.
* Reviewing building regulationsubmission packages, undertaking gap analysis reviews, plan appraisalsto identify any missing information required to secure buildingregulation approval.
* Potential to deliver building regulationcompliance training (internal and external).
* Learning andapplying quality assurance principles.
* Keeping up to date andabreast of relevant legislative and best practice changes.
What You Can Bring:
* Strong backgroundinterpreting and applying the building regulations and associatedsecondary legislation relating to projects, and a good understandingof the technical and functional requirements of the BuildingRegulations 2010.
* Sound technical Building Regulationsknowledge combined with an understanding of design and constructionand capable of delivering a solutions-focussed service.
* Excellent stakeholder facing skills and the ability tocommunicate effectively.
* An understanding of the importanceof attention to detail and accuracy in all your work.
* Aproactive attitude and a willingness to seek guidance on occasionsfrom senior colleagues.
* A sound working knowledge ofMicrosoft Office and other software packages.
* A professionalmanner and outlook.
* The ability to work concurrently on aportfolio of projects.
* Relevant professionalchartership/accreditation with either CABE, CIOB, RICS.
* Aminimum of 5 years' experience in a similar Building Safety/ buildingregulations compliance/design compliance role
* Demonstrableunderstanding of construction and design
* Full UK DrivingLicence
