Role: Test Analyst - Core Banking Transformation Location: East Midlands Contract Type: Fixed-Term Contract Salary: £55,000 per annum Our client, a leading financial services organisation, is seeking a hands-on Test Analyst to join their Core Banking Transformation programme. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys understanding business processes and outcomes, not just system behaviour, and wants to contribute to the quality of business-critical systems during the final stages of the programme. Key Responsibilities Execute system, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing across core banking and associated platforms Validate end-to-end payment flows, including Faster Payments and Direct Debits Test financial reporting, reconciliations, and general ledger (GL) postings Log, track, and support resolution of defects, providing business context during triage Retest fixes to ensure issues are resolved in line with expected business outcomes Maintain structured test evidence, traceability, and documentation Support interpretation of business requirements and translate them into effective test scenarios Identify process gaps, control weaknesses, or improvement opportunities Required Skills & Experience Proven experience as a Test Analyst or similar hands-on testing role, ideally in financial services or a regulated environment Strong experience executing system, integration, regression, and E2E testing across business-critical systems Exposure to payments, finance systems, or core banking platforms Experience logging, managing, and supporting defect resolution Proficiency with test and defect management tools (e.g., JIRA, Zephyr, TestRail) Strong analytical skills, including Excel and/or SQL Excellent communication skills for working with technical and non-technical stakeholders Desirable Skills & Experience Core banking or finance system transformation experience Knowledge of Faster Payments, BACS, PAY.UK, or Confirmation of Payee Experience working closely with business, finance, and operations teams Exposure to process mapping or documentation supporting testing activities If you are an experienced Test Analyst who enjoys hands-on testing and understanding business processes, please submit your CV and a brief cover note highlighting your relevant experience.
