Overview
gap personnel are an employment agency and are supporting their client with a Chef. We have a long standing relationship with our client providing them with all levels of staffing through their business. We are now assisting them to look for a Chef to work in their canteen.
Responsibilities
* Menu Development: Plan menus, create new dishes and specials, and develop recipes.
* Food Preparation: Prepare ingredients, cook dishes, and ensure food meets quality and presentation standards.
* Kitchen Management: Supervise and mentor kitchen staff, delegate tasks, and ensure efficient operations.
* Inventory & Cost Control: Monitor stock levels, order ingredients and supplies, manage food costs, and minimize waste.
* Hygiene & Safety: Maintain strict food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards, ensuring compliance with regulations.
* Equipment Management: Inspect and maintain kitchen equipment, ordering repairs or replacements as needed.
* Supplier Relations: Manage relationships with suppliers and inspect deliveries to ensure quality.
* Training & Development: Train new kitchen staff in culinary techniques and standard operating procedures.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Culinary Skills: Proficiency in cooking, baking, and food preparation techniques.
* Leadership: Ability to motivate, manage, and delegate tasks to a kitchen team.
* Organization: Strong organizational skills to manage inventory, schedules, and kitchen workflow.
* Creativity: Ability to develop innovative dishes and appealing menus.
* Communication: Effective communication skills to coordinate with staff and management.
* Calmness Under Pressure: The ability to remain calm and productive in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
Hours: 7am - 3pm Monday to Friday
Status: This will be a temp to perm role
